Day 1: Arrival in Paro
- Arrival in Paro: Complete immigration formalities and meet your guide.
- Paro Sightseeing: Visit Rinpung Dzong and the National Museum to explore Bhutan’s rich cultural heritage.
- Prepare for Trek: Briefing and preparation for the upcoming trek.
Overnight in Paro
Day 2: Trek Day 1 – Paro to Jele Dzong (10 km, 3-4 hours)
- Trek Begins: Start the trek with a gentle climb through pine forests, offering spectacular views of Paro Valley.
- Jele Dzong: Reach the campsite near the ruins of Jele Dzong, a historic fortress with panoramic views of Mount Jomolhari.
Overnight in camp at Jele Dzong (3,480 m)
Day 3: Trek Day 2 – Jele Dzong to Jangchulakha (10 km, 4-5 hours)
- Ascend Through Rhododendron Forests: Trek through a rich landscape of rhododendron forests and alpine meadows, with increasing altitude.
- Jangchulakha: Reach the yak herder’s campsite at Jangchulakha with stunning views of the surrounding peaks.
Overnight in camp at Jangchulakha (3,770 m)
Day 4: Trek Day 3 – Jangchulakha to Jimilang Tsho (11 km, 4-5 hours)
- Traverse High Ridges: Continue the trek along ridges offering breathtaking views of Mount Jomolhari and other Himalayan peaks.
- Jimilang Tsho Lake: Arrive at the pristine Jimilang Tsho, a beautiful high-altitude lake famous for its trout.
Overnight in camp near Jimilang Tsho (3,870 m)
Day 5: Trek Day 4 – Jimilang Tsho to Simkotra Tsho (11 km, 4-5 hours)
- Trek to Simkotra Tsho: Pass several small lakes and continue through yak herder settlements.
- Simkotra Tsho: Camp by another serene lake, Simkotra Tsho, surrounded by rugged mountains.
Overnight in camp at Simkotra Tsho (4,110 m)
Day 6: Trek Day 5 – Simkotra Tsho to Phajoding (10 km, 4-5 hours)
- Climb to Phume La Pass: Ascend to the highest point of the trek at Phume La Pass (4,210 meters), offering panoramic views of the Himalayas, including Mount Gangkar Puensum, the world’s highest unclimbed peak.
- Descend to Phajoding: Trek downhill through forests of juniper and rhododendron to reach Phajoding Monastery, an important religious site with stunning valley views.
Overnight in camp at Phajoding (3,610 m)
Day 7: Trek Day 6 – Phajoding to Thimphu (4-5 km, 3 hours)
- Final Descent to Thimphu: Hike downhill through a beautiful forest of blue pine, gradually descending into the capital city.
- Arrive in Thimphu: After completing the trek, relax and explore the vibrant city of Thimphu.
Overnight in Thimphu
Day 8: Departure from Paro
Drive to Paro: After breakfast, transfer to Paro International Airport for your onward flight.
